At 25, I started Saluto London - a vintage and reworked womenswear studio - as a side-hustle and three years later I am lucky to call it my full-time job (and to me, the best job in the world!)

From buying and re-selling a vintage dress I purchased on eBay, I have successfully built a brand, been featured in top publications, dressed celebrities, sold Saluto London pieces all over the world and built a team of six brilliant female machinists who are based around the UK.

I believe that the experience and advice that I got prior to starting the business was vital and I wouldn't be where I am today without it. It was always at the smaller companies that I felt I learnt the most and so for Summer 2023, we will be taking on weekly work experience/mentoring placements from our slightly chaotic but joyful studio in Clapham Junction, Battersea.

The role will run for a week and ideally we are looking for someone who is willing to get stuck in and is keen to learn about all aspects of a creative fashion business including helping with production (so being a sewer - even if at beginner level - is a must!), social media, marketing and general day-to-day jobs like packing up orders, managing the website etc.

Towards the end of the week, you will sit down with me over brunch/lunch for a few hours to discuss different parts of the industry that you are interested in and I can help with any questions regarding your CV or advice for further work experience.
